When One Door Closes Another One Opens

When one door closes another one opens

5 min Weekly Post

I was thinking of opportunities and our mindsets. This is linked with taking shots at opportunities that come our way.

This week one door was shut on me. I actually felt relieved that this opportunity was shut down as it would have involved trading precious time for very limited upside potential.

In the same vein I explored an opportunity to learn a skill that has great potential upside.

Tom Brady American Footballer

It brings to mind a video I watched of Tom Brady the famous American footballer Quarter Back. He was the 199th Draft Pick in the 6th round of the Year 2000 National Football League Draft picks. This must have crystallized his mind to show the coaches what he was made of.

He only became the starting quarter back in his second season. This was after the injury of his team mate the primary quarterback. As we say the rest is history.

Picked late in the 2000 NFL Draft, Brady became the starting quarterback for the New England Patriots after Drew Bledsoe got hurt. He played surprisingly well and led New England to its first Super Bowl win in 2001.

Since then, he has won a record of five Super Bowl MVP awards (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XLIX, LI, LV) as well as three NFL MVP awards (2007, 2010, 2017).  Source Tom Brady – Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

His first team the New England Patriots reaped the rewards for showing faith in him after getting rejected by other teams.

Summary

Opportunity will always open and shut its doors to us.  It’s a revolving door that is there for the taking. Will we take it and run with it? That’s the question we should always ask ourselves.

  1. Hey this is somewhat of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!
