There are times like that, Bailey. Times you
don’t think you can take it anymore. But then you discover that you
can. You always do. You’re tough. You’ll take a deep breath,
swallow just a little bit more, endure just a little longer, and
eventually you’ll get your second wind, — Amy Harmon

The fatigue of the climb was great but it is interesting to learn once more how much further one can go on one’s second wind. I think that is an important lesson for everyone to learn for it should also be applied to one’s mental efforts. Most people go through life without ever discovering the existance of that whole field of endeavor which we describe as second wind. Whether mentally or physically occupied most people give up at the first appearance of exhaustion. Thus they never learn the glory and the exhilaration of genuine effort … — Agnes Elizabeth Nee Ernst Meyer

When you undertake a daunting task, an adventure bigger than you ever thought you’d take on, you don’t get to know what challenges the universe will present to you on the way. You can decide where you will go and how much money you’ll spend and what your activities will be, but there will always be something unexpected, a hurdle of sorts, that offers you an opportunity to learn something about yourself if you take it in stride. — Cami Ostman

When I don’t feel like working out, lifting weights or doing serious cardio, the best thing for me to do is just go on the treadmill and walk. Do you know what’s one mistake we always make? Believing that life’s immutable, that once you get on a particular track you have to follow it to the end of the line. Abstract

When we start projects or ventures it always starts at a high note then we hit a rut and momentum is curtailed or stops altogether. This also happens to our most important relationships and other tasks we do.

This is why it’s important to get your second wind and start afresh. You can get back at your project or task with new light on how to tackle it or make it better. For the most important things in life we should be thinking about the 5th wind and 6th wind

This will be one of my shorter posts as I am in post knee operation recovery mode.

The ‘Rocky’ Movies

Sylvester Stallone will always be remembered for his simple story lines but effective movies. His ‘Rocky’ and ‘Rambo’ series of movies have always rung a bell with many ardent movie goers. The series that I will not forget is the ‘Rocky’ series.

Here as a boxing champion who always wore the ‘under dog’ tag he always came back from seeming defeat to knock out the champion. He applied the ‘second wind’ phenomena truism in all these movies and came out triumphant at the end.

These movies inspired many individuals to dust of their dreams and achieve more. The second bounce, third bounce is always important.

Application

Where do we need to apply our second wind, third wind, fourth wind. That’s the core driver. Never give up where we just need to apply more momentum. It’s crucial to keep our heads down and drive to achieve our great dreams

Do not get demoralized, do not listen to the critics but always aim for excellence where you truly know your success will light a flame in your community.
