Abstract

Life is relentless it’s like a river that runs every day. The beat or show will go on despite the trials and triumphs we face each day. The earth will rotate, the sun will rise and set, there will be upsets and celebrations.

It’s called life and you just need to grind out your best each and every day. We always have to appreciate the seasons and cycles of life. There are tools that assist us manage the ups and downs in life. The key tools are systems and good habits.

Life and Season Cycles/Life happens

The adage history repeats itself is very true. Human beings have short memory spans. I believe this is a natural adaptation to help us deal with painful trauma and memories. The wise always look back to history to guide their way in the future.

We have to understand that life will go on despite the everyday events we face. Once we understand the fact that stuff or s*%? Happens we can adjust our planning for the worst and best cycles.

There are seasons for peace/war, seasons of plenty/hunger, seasons of birth/mourning, seasons of rest/striving. We only need to plan and make contingencies around the best and worst outcomes. The show has to go on.

In comes Systems Thinking

This is why it’s always good to create systems in your life. You cannot be a solo operator and need to learn how to cooperate and delegate tasks and other processes to others.

Your body will break down at some point and it’s the support systems that you create that will sustain you and your loved ones down the road.

There are key pillars and foundations in life that we always need to attend to. They are namely Finances, Health and Social Well Being.

For Finances and cashflow the best support system is the creation of businesses in divergent sectors to spread the risk of failure. These businesses should be systemized as much as possible to make them viable independent entities from you the owner.

For continuous education and social well-being tap into networks of churches, friends, societies and clubs. Join societies that have great goals and objectives. The peer pressure of these social groups will make you accountable and the overall support network will assist you during tough times.

For Health and physical well being good personal systems and habits will assist you. Joining a health club, delegating days for exercise, getting a partner or coach to force you to do the necessary exercises is great.

Family – Create time for family schedule it in your calendar for your immediate nuclear family and extended relatives. They are the only ones who will be left standing with you when the worst happens

Our day to day tasks should be directed at the four pillars above. I will summarize them below:

–  Creating Viable businesses; You can only gift a viable business to your descendants not a career

–  Joining beneficial clubs and societies for continuous education and social well being

–  Getting an exercise partner/coach or joining a club

–  Create scheduled time for the family. One picnic/beach day or cook out day. Visits to extended  relatives

Enjoy everyday moments

Finally take time to enjoy life and nature. That burst of rainfall, the early morning sun rise and glorious sun sets. That walk in bare foot grass. This is what makes life worth it and exciting. We need to slow down appreciate our food, the stars in the sky and forget about the news.

Stuff will always happen but do not forget to focus on the most important pillars in your life.
